Msgr. James Supple

Pastor Emeritus

Father Supple was born February 27, 1912, in Cascade, Iowa. He graduated from St. Martin's High School in 1928, and graduated from Loras College in 1932. He attended the Seminary in Innsbruck, Austria, and was ordained on March 29, 1936. Father Supple served as assistant pastor at St. Patrick's in Dubuque until February, 1944, when he joined the Army Air Corps as Chaplain. In 1946, he was assigned as pastor in La Porte City, and in 1947, he was assigned to St. Thomas Aquinas Church and Student Center. In 1980, he was transferred to St. Patrick's in Nevada, until retirement in 1987. He lived the rest of his years as an active and vital part of the St. Thomas Aquinas community in Ames. James was adored by all and will be fondly remembered.
