The altar is the table of the Lord. Human characteristics are portrayed in the design of the altar. Legs are splayed outward reacting to the demands of support. Arms reach out and upward as to present a jewel-like faceted top - where our offering is made. Wood chosen for all of our furnishings comes from the U.S., Africa, and Central and South America, reflecting the diverse nature of our community. Thomas J. Monahan designed and crafted the altar from purpleheart, Gabon ebony, and wenge.
